Top 10 Woody Allen Movie Rankings of All Time

At least since the early 1980’s, there is at least one Woody Allen movie to watch every year. Oh, but wait. Have you just recently heard or read for the first time about American film director, actor and screen writer Woody Allen, who’s been working on all of these different talents since the 1960’s, whose birthday is actually on December 1st (Happy Super Belated Or Super Early Birthday, Woody Allen!)? Are you interested in watching some of his best films, but you are a bit undecided whether which movies to choose in what order, what category? Will you stick to watch his classic films and/or the new ones? How many Woody Allen rankings do you want to carefully read before choosing the actual Woody Allen films you want to enjoy? Say no more. Here’s the best ranking of Woody Allen movie rankings of all time, in order to choose and remember which are the great director’s all-time best ranks.

10.          All 47 Woody Allen movies - ranked from worst to best (2016)

Interesting list of Woody Allen films. I agree to the fact that “Hollywood Ending” is #47, the last one in this rank, but to put the marvelous, great modern classic “Match Point” at #33… So low? Really? And the not-too-good “Another Woman” so high, at #4? Too bad rank list! Worst Woody Allen rank list of all time, no doubt!

9.            The best Woody Allen movies of all time (2016)

Again, “Match Point” is here included badly, even worse on this rank than the #10 Woody Allen rank list above (#34). But it has included “Deconstructing Harry” at #14, which is much better than The Telegraph’s rank of such a great movie at #21. “Another Woman”, also in comparison with The Telegraph, is a bit lower in the rank being placed at #13, that is, one spot above the classic “Deconstructing Harry”. I cannot agree to this! Cannot!

8.            RANKED: ALL 50 WOODY ALLEN FILMS FROM WORST TO BEST (2013)

Like Aerosmith says: “Same old story, same old song and dance, my friend!” This rank is very similar to the previous ones checked here, but still is not the same as them, either! “Another Woman” is still placed as a “good” movie in this ranking, placed at #18, and using “Match Point” at #29. What a miracle to finally see it here in their Top 30!

7.            Ranking the Films of Woody Allen: From ‘Tiger Lily’ to ‘Irrational Man’ (2015)

“September” is ranked around the other usually lower films, that is, “Cassandra’s Dreams”, “Scoop” and “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion”. That’s something. Hmmmh. “Another Woman” high as #21, though? To be positive about this ranking, “Deconstructing Harry” is in its top ten (# 8!!!), but how come it is placed above the great “Love and Death” (#10)??? Oh, man!

6.            Ranked: Woody Allen Films from Worst to Best (2011)

“Match Point” is here placed really high at #3 in the rank. Fair, right below “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan”. But “A Midsummer’s Night Sex Comedy” placed at #38… Maybe that’s not one of Woody Allen’s best movies, but not one of his worst, either! And “Midnight in Paris” by #34? So low?!? So unfair!!!

5.            The Best & The Rest: Every Woody Allen Film Ranked (2016)

“Another Woman” is placed on #28. A bit better… Better, indeed! “Small Time Crooks” at #27, though. Such a bad movie, and particularly when compared to Woody Allen’s so many better movies than this one!

4.            From worst to best: Woody Allen films ranked (and where to watch them online) (2015)

“Cassandra’s Dream”, “Scoop” and “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion”, as the past rankings on this ranking of rankings, are placed in the final places, but those are much better than that! More deserving the middle rank places, I’d say. Better over here, though, is the higher appearance by “Match Point” and “Midnight in Paris” is acceptable, but to put “Everyone Says I Love You” above the two mentioned modern classics is NOT acceptable at all.

3.            Here Are Woody Allen’s Best Movies (2014)

Instead of working with every Woody Allen film, this rank sticks to what they believe is Woody Allen’s Top 10 best films, which is more or less acceptable. It includes the usual Woody Allen classics without a clear order (“Annie Hall”, “Crimes and Misdemeanors”, “Manhattan”, “Hanna and Her Sisters”) and the cool idea to include his best film from this actual decade (“Midnight in Paris”!). However, it is a shame to include the many times overrated by many people “Broadway Danny Rose” instead of much, much better Woody Allen films, such as “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, “Blue Jasmine” and, say… *ahem* “Match Point” (!!!).

2.            Ultimate Movie Rankings: Woody Allen Movies (2015)

Great reunion of Woody Allen’s best films, greatly including “Love and Death” at # 9 and “Midnight in Paris” at # 7, but… “Antz” at # 4?!? A movie in which Woody Allen is just a voice?!? And “Match Point” back to the #28 rank position?!? Unfair!!!

1.            The Best Woody Allen Movies (2015)

This list is decided by all the people that vote for it and because of that it frequently changes. Even though last time I checked this ranking “Bananas” was not included in its Top Ten (#11!!!), I agree with most of the positions here. This is by far the fairest Woody Allen movie ranking of all time. Hands down, no holds barred, no strings attached. Far out.

Anyway: Enjoy all of Woody Allen’s films in any order you want! Anyway you choose!

2017
